Pilot environment

open-math.ai

A shared research environment that keeps code and reviewed project context in Git, model credentials with each researcher, and portable working context under explicit ownership and scope.

Connect your workspace

  1. Install Visual Studio Code and its Remote - SSH extension.
  2. Give the administrator your SSH public key. Never send the private key.
  3. Connect to 46.225.116.96 using your assigned Unix username.
  4. The administrator adds you to a project; setup creates your independent checkout at ~/python/<project>.
  5. In VS Code, open that checkout. Only members of that project receive one.
  6. Use native VS Code agent chat with the official Codex or GitHub Copilot extension. The Open Math-hosted model will also appear in the native model picker when the shared inference gateway is enabled.
  7. Open agent chat in the checkout. Ask it to read project context, contribute selected conclusions, edit files, or make a reviewed Git commit.
  8. If you prefer OpenCode, run open-math-opencode in the integrated terminal.
ssh -i ~/.ssh/openmath_ed25519 your-name@46.225.116.96

Choose context deliberately

Personal — defaultVisible only to you. Use it for tentative ideas, credentials, or private notes.
Project — explicitUse project:impact only when you intend the session to be available to project members.

Open Math records only events exposed by the coding runtime. It does not capture hidden model reasoning and it never silently publishes personal context.

How the pieces fit

OpenCode captures opted-in visible events automatically. In VS Code agent chat, Copilot or Codex can read authorized Open Math context and explicitly contribute selected content through MCP. Either can edit and commit reviewed project files in the same chat. A complete private agent-chat transcript is never shared automatically.

Project context is portable across all interfaces. Exact conversation continuation across VS Code, Slack, and the CLI is available for Open Math-owned conversations; Codex- or Copilot-owned threads remain in those products and contribute selected context explicitly.
